My zeen has been printed from Indesign and has been put together. I used a saddle stitch with black thread and a needle. I had an issue with punching the holes through the piece but it came out well in the end. It is very strongly bonded as I went through each hole various times. I’m happy with he outcome of the book and hopefully will inform the process and ideas of the posters and map.
I came up with an idea called LoVdon which stands for london but links to the emotions and moods in project two. The idea had was use the emtion of love but with your mood. The idea of loveing london with the mood within the text.
These hearts i created by drawing then editing into illustrator. The hearts symbolise love but are human hearts. I chose these as I like the detial on the heart compared to your standard love heart shape.
I put the heart into a grid and then overlayed it over the type i had created using the same method.
I transfered the grid of hearts from illustrator into photoshop as it is easy to crop around the type to fit the grid of hearts so they do not overlap the text but fit perfectly.
Lovedon – Love poster. The idea was this symbolises “feeling loved”.
I decided ill put onto a wider white background with some simple text in Helvetica Bold with the idea of Feeling the love.
Idea : “Not your day”
Roses Idea for Lovedon
The last two need to be create so they are alot darker. I will experiment more with the images inside the text for different moods so i should have a range of moods and emotions for 3 poster +.

I decided to re create my 3 posters for project 2 Journeys, This is because now i think i can do better. I looked at how i wanted people to take a selfie in front of the poster to show there emotion so it could be posed onto social media.
Originally i had an outline of a human that the person could fit into but i thought this just ruined the image and did not invite more than one person as you have got to have a lot of guts to take a picture in front of a lot of people around.
So i came up with idea after idea looking at ways i can link the selfie into a symbol. I sketched up my ideas and came across the link of a hand mirror you hold and the phone and combined them. this is because when you look into the mirror its similar as looking into your phone screen.
This the outcome i came up with. i then thought id create another symbol which could combine more than one person as i was looking through selfies that they tend to involve more people of what they are doing.
I created this using illustrator creating a simple shape that looks like the person inside.
This is my map idea simple black and white with a bit of colour around my compass idea. I decided to put the explosion around the compass to give it that power and it is a main key when finding you way around.
I did that map in blocks like a playing board and goes in a kind of snake shape from left to right going up and down. The larger rectangles on the end linking the two squares together links them up so you go in the right direction.
I came up with this idea after i thought about our previous workshop lessons and one of these was arranging the photos of a similar journey to any way possibly. I used that to create a more structured approach using my pictures i took on a different trip and came up with this board game style
This is a journey I took from camden to leicester square taking pictures from the top deck of a public bus. I chose different buildings and signs which could be fairly recognisable.
I then gradually gained a collection and updated them onto my laptop.
Next i designed my grid abit like a board game and started uploading my images with the same Sillouette idea as my posters to create my map.
Kin own a research and design studio space that our class visited at the start of the year to get some ideas for my studio space. They had only just moved in but you could get a feel of how they wanted to lay it out and they even showed us how they had there old studio with photographs on a presentation. We now Have them Tutoring us alongside Ricardo with our main projects “Immenent City” a couple days of the week. It is really good having a range of tutors at the moment such as “Ricardo” and “Kin” helping us out trying to get the best from us.
I started to look at how you could improve your journey and also how you could express this using the ideas of posters on a large scale as the tube and bus stops are full of advertisement. Alot of ways my friends express themselves is using selfies. Selfies show your expression which can help someone to understand your mood. Body language is also a big part of it for example a thumbs up means “Good” and a thumbs down means “Bad”.
After experimenting with different positions i could place my body in i used this to apply it to my poster. For example applying it by using different types of sillouettes to show the user what position to be in to show there mood. Different posters with show there mood which can be selfied with and uploaded onto facebook or twitter for exaple. This then records there mood and will show other viewers how they are feeling. For exaple… you are walking to the bus stop in the morning feeling really down and tired…
By taking a selfie you are able to express your feelings and also give you a piece of art on a bus stop to interact with giving you a better quality of journey.
These are a few more that symbolise other types of mood or to improve a mood. This is because there are so many different moods that you can be in you need a lot to accompany them.
“Smile your being watched”
The jmages we took on out journey in Aldgate we refused them to create other kind of patterned and methods of grouping than the swatch. My favourite was the flower effect of colour from sky on the outside to concrete within.
We then took 2 of our images and add our own art to them. I inserted colour into this run down area with rubbish and dirt. A neglected area is now pouring colour onto its streets.
